Board of Directors

Waltham Cooperative Playgroup is a parent-run nonprofit led by members of our community. Our Board of Directors helps steward the organization, oversee its finances and operations, and support the cooperative for current and future families.

Current Leadership

Shari Hyatt

Co-President · 2024–present

Shari brings a background in education and modern-language curriculum development, including years teaching high school French. Her community work has included supporting immigrant English learners, leading a children’s church choir, and service as a director of the Waltham American Legion Band.

Fun fact: Shari plays flute with the Waltham American Legion Band.

Baileigh Hightower

Co-President · 2026–present

Baileigh spent five years in human neuroimaging research before earning her master’s in social work. She went on to work with teens and adults with neurodevelopmental disorders and brings a strong background in social-emotional learning and development.

Fun fact: When she gets a little time to herself, Baileigh loves to knit and crochet.

Hope Faron

Treasurer · 2024–present

Hope brings a background in healthcare and community service, with nursing experience and volunteer work supporting older adults through FriendshipWorks.

Registrar · 2024–present

Alison is a certified planner and Senior Planner at Stantec, where her work focuses on community planning and public engagement. She has also held leadership roles with the Massachusetts chapter of the American Planning Association.

WCP has been shaped by many member families over the years. We’re grateful to former board members who gave their time and care to help steward the cooperative.

Kylie Reid

Co-President Emerita

Kylie served as Co-President after joining WCP with her sons. She has described the playgroup as an especially welcoming community and credited its familiar routines with helping her oldest make a smooth transition to preschool.

John Perry

Co-President Emeritus

John served as Co-President of WCP, helping lead the parent-run cooperative and support the families who make it possible. We’re grateful for the time, judgment, and care he brought to the organization.
